Nutrient evolution tendency at some location monitored fields in Fujian Province

  • The nutrient contents of the surface soils at 16 cropped fields, among which 12 were established by the province and 4 by the state, were monitored during 1998-2004 in order to reveal the nutrient evolution tendency of the cropped fields in Fujian Province.The content of total N and organic matter in these soils increased slightly, the content of available P increased evidently whereas that of the alkali-hydrolyzable N decreased.The content of available K in paddy rice fields decreased while that in uplands increased slightly.All the evolution had no significant differences.The results indicated that N and P fertilizers were generally applied in excessive amount in Fujian Province.
